William Wang won Large Gold medal plus Special Prize at the Uruguay 2025 World Stamp Exhibition

Punta del Este, Uruguay (Feb 2025): Our estemmed BPS member from Malaysia, William Wang, has once again achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Large Gold Medal and the Special Prize at the prestigious Uruguay 2025 World Stamp Exhibition

The exhibition is a Specialised World Stamp Exhibition held under the patronage of FIP, organized by the Federación Uruguaya de Filatelia (FUF) to commemorate Uruguay’s bicentennial independence celebration. It is proudly sponsored by the Uruguayan Postal Service and supported by the Philatelic Circle of Montevideo.

William’s exhibit, titled “The Postal History of Labuan & North Borneo Before & Under Chartered Company Rule”, captivated the judges and attendees alike. Approximately 1000 frames were exhibited in Traditional Philately, Postal History, Postal Stationery, Aerophilately, Thematic Philately and Open Philately.

As the only Malaysian representative at the event, William brought pride to his country with his outstanding achievement, while also highlighting its vibrant philatelic heritage, particularly that of North Borneo and Labuan.
