

Birmigham: The Borneo Philatelic Society (BPS) took part in the Europhilex 2025 International Stamp Exhibition in Birmingham between 7-11 May 2025.
The highly-anticipated international stamp exhibition opened at Birmingham’s NEC, drawing collectors, dealers, and postal services such as the Royal Mail. The event featured 2,000 exhibit frames from more than 40 countries alongside 60+ dealers and trade stands.




The packed schedule also featured more than 30 society meetings, including a gathering of our society. The BPS hosted a society meeting on Thursday, 8 May, from 11-1pm for members and guests alike.
Speakers included Jon Higgins, Fah Onn Liau, Claire Scott, and Peter Halmkin, who shared interesting exhibition from our countries.


Several of our members also took part in the exhibition – Simon Martin Redman, Dr. Jon Higgins and Ambassador Shiv Nair.
Jon won vermeil medals for both his exhibits: 1-frame exhibition on Japanese Occupation (one line overprint and its forgeries on the stamps of Brunei) and his 5-frame exhibition on North Borneo 1888-92 Small Shield Issue, its surcharges and forgeries.
Shiv Nair took home gold medal for his 8-frame exhibition on Sarawak – The last white Rajah: The issues of Charles Vyner Brooke 1918-46.
